ICYMI, social media is ablaze with speculations about Xian Lim and Barbie Imperial following a viral photo of them being spotted together at a hotel in Davao. The controversial Facebook post was courtesy of Hotel Rosario Mati, who thanked the duo for "staying" at their establishment.
While the post was meant to be for promotional purposes only, netizens couldn’t help but poke fun and put malice at the photo of the two, fueling cheating allegations against Xian, who's in a relationship with Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu.
“Kim Chiu, let's have a shot puno,” one netizen joked.
Another Facebook user also teased the Cebuana star, referencing a viral line from the birthday message that the actress received from Vice President Leni Robredo just a few weeks ago.
“Hotel as a friend,” wrote another commenter, alluding to Paolo Contis’ controversial quote when he was linked to Yen Santos last year.
On the other hand, a netizen took the time to debunk the rumors, explaining that Barbie and Xian were actually celebrity guests for a political campaign at Mati City, where the hotel was located.
Upon checking, Barbie and Xian top-billed a Miting de Avance indeed, performing alongside local Davaoeno artists. The two were the only mainstream celebrities invited from the metro, which might explain why they were booked a hotel to stay in to keep them comfortable.
As of writing, neither Barbie nor Xian has spoken about the issue. The viral post already garnered over 100K reactions.
