Last May, we celebrated Mother’s Day by having you girls vote for your favorite Pinay movie mom from our list of 10. All the votes are now in, and Vilma Santos was the FNites’ top pick, getting a total of 124 out of 193 votes (64.24 percent) for her role as Josie in the movie Anak!

Vilma's touching performance in Anak alongside Claudine Barretto's portrayal of her rebellious teenage daughter moved several audiences across the globe to tears, making it one of her most memorable roles to date. For that role, she was nominated as Best Actress in the 2000 Film Academy of the Philippines and Gawad Urian awards, and she was the recipient of the same honor in the 2000 Star Awards for Movies.
