According to a report from PEP.ph, Vhong Navarro's fellow It's Showtime host Vice Ganda is scheduled to give his sworn statement in court today, February 26, in relation to Roxanne Cabañero's (also known as Roxanne Acosta) alleged rape complaint against Vhong.
“Yes. Since Vice will be leaving the country [for a concert in U.S.], we have taken the precaution of getting his sworn affidavit. It’s going to be part of the evidence that we will be submitting [in Pasig Prosecutor's Office],” Vhong's legal counsel Atty. Mallonga said.
“Mayro’n akong alam sa puso ko na maaaring makatulong sa kanya (Deep in my heart, I know that I could help him [Vhong]),” Vice Ganda said in his Buzz ng Bayan interview on February 23.
Vice himself confirmed that Vhong was at Island Cove Resort in Cavite on April 24, 2010, as a guest in Vice's concert, May Nag-txt, May Concert Ako. Vhong's presence at the resort was also confirmed by Island Cove manager Gwen Villanueva, who said in a separate report that she personally saw the actor on the said date. Their stories seem to run contrary to Roxanne's statement, as she claims that Vhong picked her up at Astoria Plaza Hotel in Ortigas on April 24, and he allegedly proceeded to rape her afterward.
However, Astoria project director Ric Valenzuela says that there's no such record of the reported stay.
