Vhong Navarro has no intention of letting Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, and the other people reportedly involved in the January 22 mauling incident get away easy.
At 2:20 P.M. yesterday, the actor and TV host swore on his six-page statement from his hospital bed, bent on filing a string of cases against the suspects including serious illegal detention, serious physical injuries, grave threat, grave coercion, and unlawful arrest, reports PEP.ph.
“The fact of the matter is that Vhong Navarro was illegally detained,” says Vhong's laywer Atty Alma Mallonga in an interview with Mornings @ ANC.
“I think he was tied up, and he was forced to go to a place he did not want to go.”
“He was deprived of his liberty for that purpose, of doing the bidding of these people.
“We will not argue the legal merits, but in the meantime, the facts are clear.”
Vhong’s other lawyer Atty. Dennis Manalo, as well as Vhong's manager Chito Roño, also appealed to Department of Justice Leila De Lima for a “swift and impartial” investigation, reports Philstar.com.
“As in any probe that we undertake, I will make sure that the NBI’s probe will be impartial and credible,” she was quoted as saying. “I will also look into Cedric Lee’s alleged connections to certain NBI officials, past or present.”
