The single mom shared that she and her estranged husband Timothy Tan and their kids will be spending the holidays together, and that they'll be leaving for the U.S. on December 21 to celebrate Christmas with Sunshine's father. "I’m very happy na my dad knows of our situation na parang hindi kami nagkabalikan ni Timo pero magkaibigan kami for the children and my dad supports that," Sunshine said.
Sunshine elaborates on the status of her relationship with her ex-husband, saying "We are co-parenting pero hiwalay na kami. I’m okay with that kasi pro-family. 'Yung mga anak ko, okay naman sila. Masaya sila, nakakasama nila 'yung dad nila.
"Sometimes, Tim and I, we still go out as a family. We have dinner sometimes. We attend school events as a family. I’m OK with that kasi masaya 'yung mga anak ko," Sunshine stressed.
Even if their kids seem kilig when they're together as a family, Sunshine said their eldest, six-year-old daughter Doreen, understands their new setup. "Ang [ginagawa] ko, kinakausap ko siya kasi I don’t want to confuse her also," she said.
"I tell her, 'Doreen, did you understand that mom and dad are OK? We are friends.' Ang isasagot niya sa akin parati, ‘Yeah, mom. I’m happy that you and dad are okay. You’re friends, instead of you together, but fighting,'" Sunshine shared and added that she couldn't ask for anything more.
However, she warned women who are interested in Tim. "I’m still technically married. Hindi ako nag-file ng annulment. So, I’m still Mrs. Tan. So 'yung mga umaaligid kay Timothy, beware ha-ha-ha-ha! Asawa pa rin ako ‘no!" Sunshine quipped.
She admitted she doesn't know when she'd cease being Tim's legal wife. "Kasi honestly, I’m at a point in my life wherein I don’t want to get married naman. I don’t have plans, honestly, of getting married again or getting into a relationship," she said.
"With regards to my relationship naman with Timothy, okay naman din kami. Hindi kami nag-aaway. I don’t ask questions. Kung mag-date man siya o kung nasaan man siya, I don’t ask. Sa akin, hindi naman magulo. Basta pagdating lang sa mga bata, okay siya, maayos kami," she said.
