Sunshine Cruz has denied that she did not file a case against her estranged husband, Cesar Montano, because he had refused to meet her “financial demands.”

In a report on, Cesar’s lawyer, Atty. Joel Ferrer, said that Sunshine had asked his client to buy her a new house worth P11 to 15 million in addition to a monthly financial support amounting to P350,000.

"Gumagawa-gawa ng kwento si Sunshine kasi hindi napagbigyan 'yung demands niya (Sunshine is inventing stories because her demands were not met)," Atty. Ferrer was quoted in saying.

However, Sunshine insists that she went back to show business because she has gotten tired of waiting for financial support from Cesar.

"Eh kailangan ko mag-work kasi ayaw ko namang mamilit sa isang tao, na pahirapan lagi kung magbigay sa mga bata," she said. "But it doesn't mean na porket nagtatrabaho tayo eh pagkakaitan na tayo at hindi na ipapakita sa iyo ang mga anak mo kung kailan wala ka nang trabaho (I have to work because I don’t want to force someone to grudgingly give money for the kids. But it doesn’t mean that just because I have a job, people can hold that against me and prevent me from seeing my children whenever I'm not working)."

Sunshine also maintained that she filed the case because she only wants to be with her children again.

"Kung may choice lang ako, talagang hindi ko gagawin ito (If I had a choice, I really wouldn’t do this),” she said. "You all know how I protected Cesar because he is still the father of my children and I told everybody that he is a good father to my kids."

Though Sunshine earlier said that she had already forgiven Cesar, she is now unsure if reconciliation is still a possibility for them.

"Mahirap magsalita ng tapos (It’s difficult to say anything final.). Only God knows.”
