Sunshine Cruz still admits that she still has feelings for her husband, Cesar Montano, despite the marital problems they are experiencing at the moment.

“Kung sa love, hindi naman mawawala 'yun, e. First love ko 'yun, e,” she was quoted by PEP.ph as saying. “Pero ang importante nga sa akin ngayon ay mahalin ko ang sarili ko at ang kids ko. Kaya, trabaho lang muna ako. Marami ang dumarating na trabaho kaya doon muna ako naka-concentrate (I won’t stop loving him. He’s my first love, after all. But it’s more important for me right now to love myself and my kids. So I’ll focus on work at the moment. I’m getting a lot of jobs, so I’m concentrating on that at the moment.).”

She also said she does not regret the decisions and the sacrifices she made during the span of her relationship.

“I don’t regret anything sa anumang nagawa ko in my life, especially nandyan ang kids na mahal na mahal ka,” she said. “Wala akong pinagsisihan kasi I know na ginawa ko ang lahat for this relationship to work, pero wala talaga. There are times na nag-iisip din ako if tama ang naging decision ko but, I guess, kung babalikan ko ang mga nangyari, alam ko tama ang ginawa ko (I don’t regret anything I did in my life, especially since I have kids who love me so much. I don’t regret anything because I know that I did all that I can for this relationship to work, to no avail. There are times when I had second thoughts about my decision, but, I guess, if I were to go back in the past, I’d know that what I did was right.).”

Sunshine is also hoping for a successful showbiz comeback, especially since there is a possibility that she might raise her children with Cesar on her own.

“I hope I can get more jobs this time. I’m a single mom now, so I really have to work hard,” she said. “Basta 'yung sa kids ko, I have to work hard for it. Sanay naman ako sa simpleng buhay lang. As long as may work, okey na ako (For my kids, I have to work hard for them. I’m used to a simple life. I’ll be okay as long as I have work.).”

As for asking for financial support from Cesar, Sunshine says she would rather leave that decision up to him.

“Hindi ko naman siya inoobliga, pero it’s up to him,” she said. “But knowing him na mahal niya ang mga anak niya, I believe naman na nandun pa rin ang kanyang one hundred percent na suporta (I’m not obliging him, but it’s up to him. But knowing that he loves his children very much, I believe that he’ll still support them one hundred percent.).”
