Sunshine Cruz has dismissed the allegations of her estranged husband Cesar Montano that she has been making unfair financial demands in the midst of their controversial split. The actress allegedly asked Cesar to buy her a new house worth P25 million, which she vehemently denied.

During a recent press conference, she revealed that Cesar himself had offered to purchase an expensive home for her and that she even has photos of the house that he wanted to buy.

Meron siyang gustong bilhing bahay sa amin. May picture pa ako, may e-mail, worth P25 million (There’s a house that he wanted to buy for us. I have a picture, an e-mail, [the house is] worth P25 million),” she was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. "Sabi ko (I said), ‘It’s too big. That’s too much for us. We just need a simple house na maganda para sa mga bata at safe (that would be safe and suitable for the kids).”

However, she never expected that her husband's offer to buy her a new home would be used against her.

Ginamit ng lawyer. Sinabi na nagpapabili raw ako at hindi ibinigay ni Buboy (Cesar’s nickname) kaya raw ako nagagalit. Sabi ko, ‘Oh my god! That’s not true!’ (The lawyer used it against me. She said that I got mad because Buboy didn’t give in to my demands when I asked him to buy me a house. I said, ‘Oh my god! That’s not true!’)” she said.

When asked if there’s still hope for her and Cesar to reconcile, Sunshine said that she has already closed the door on the topic.

“As much as possible, tapos na. Nasabi ko na yung gusto kong sabihin,” she said. “So, ngayon, ang iniisip na lang namin, kung ano makakabuti sa mga bata (As much as possible, it’s over. I've already said what I wanted to say. So, right now, we’re just thinking about what’s best for the kids.).”

However, Sunshine says there might still be hope for them to become friends again in the future.

“In God’s time, why not? May tatlo kaming anak (We have three children),” she said. “Pero for now, to be honest with everyone, wala kaming communication (But for now, to be honest with everyone, there’s no communication between us.).”
