The Twitterverse came alive the other day when actress Angelica Panganiban posted a series of Tweets about Azkals football player Phil Younghusband on her Twitter account, @IamAngelicaP. “Si phil may indie film... Akala ko ba football player sya??? :( lahat na lang artista na :( sad... (Phil has an indie film. I thought he was a football player? Everyone’s a celebrity now. Sad),” she tweeted. “Sana sa pbb sya sumali :) d sa azkals. Baka mapuyat sya sa shooting d sya makalaro ng maayos. Gets nyo ba ko? O buong araw natin to issue? (He should have just joined Pinoy Big Brother, not the Azkals. He might lose sleep because of shooting, and not play well. Do you guys get what I mean? Or are we going to talk about this all day?)” she added. “Magaling mag football si phil. Stick to that muna :) kakasimula pa lang natin sa football. Baka mas magenjoy sya sa acting. Sayang. (Phil is really good at football. Just stick to that first. We’ve only just started getting known for the sport. He might enjoy acting more. It’s a shame.)”
But things started to become interesting when a “fan” of the athlete replied to Angelica’s tweets. Over the course of Thursday night, “Baby Morales” (@anilmorales) posted over 70 Tweets against Angelica. Apart from calling Angelica a “bitch” and “stupid,” she verbally attacked Angelica’s boyfriend, Derek Ramsay, whom the user said was “trying hard” to be an athlete. She also posted biting comments about Angelica being adopted.
Angelica posted tweets in retaliation, calling the user “bakla” and “bastos.” In reply to her fan (@followela) who said, “Don't stoop to her level..you're way better than her,” she said, “Im not. Paglaruan lang natin siya. (Let’s just play with her.)”
She later appeared on Showbiz News Ngayon to air her side and expressed that she was thinking of filing a case against @anilmorales.
