Rumors of Megastar Sharon Cuneta transferring from home network ABS-CBN to Kapatid network TV5 have been going around in the past few weeks, but it was only on November 22 that the news was confirmed to be true. PEP.ph reports that Sharon signed a five-year contract with TV5 at the Marajo Tower in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
TV5 president and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa was present at the contract signing along with Sharon's talent mananagers, Sandra Chavez and Vic del Rosario. TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan was not around to congratulate Sharon, making the Megastar quip, "MVP is supposed to be here, but there's too much Pangilinans already."
In his "Funfare" column on The Philippine Star on November 21, entertainment writer Ricky Lo's sources revealed that Sharon's talent fee was allegedly worth P1 billion. At the contract signing, Sharon and the TV5 executives merely smiled when asked about the rumor.
Sharon's contract includes a daily show, a reality show, and a movie.
