On Thursday, June 14, Shamcey Supsup and Lloyd Lee proudly announced that their second baby is a boy. The couple officially announced the gender of their baby during the grand opening of the seventh branch of their restaurant, Pedro N' Coi.
In an interview with PEP.ph and other members of the press, Shamcey admitted that she was surprised when she first found out about her pregnancy.
The 32-year-old celebrity mom narrrated, "Hindi ko din kasi alam. Parang ako, nung umpisa sabi ko [kay Lloyd], one [child] lang, dahil na-overwhelm ako dun sa first baby. Hindi ako nag-work for like almost six months after I gave birth."
Shamcey added, "Yung kay Nyke talaga planned, talagang we said, 'Okay, mag-baby tayo.' This one talagang nagulat na lang din ako..."
But the former Miss Universe Philippines titleholder noted that they have been talking about having another baby for some time now. "Nagdyu-joke lang kami na parang, 'O, next year, mag-baby na tayo.' 'Tapos, nagtse-check pa kami ng calendar, ng Chinese calendar kung paano ba maging boy or girl, ganun."=
Now on her fifth month, Shamcey said her current pregnancy is a lot easier compared to her first.
She explained, "I had very less morning sickness unlike during my first pregnancy.
"Four months talaga yata akong... I [couldn't] eat, [I was] throwing up. I lost siguro mga 10 pounds nung mga first trimester. Pero kinain ko siya lahat nung second and third. Now, mas malaki talaga. I compared pictures from before and now.
"I'm definitely bigger now and much heavier kasi nga wala akong morning sickness... Before kasi may mga aversions ako sa food, ngayon, lahat ng pagkain gusto ko... More on salty, salty food."
She said, "Basta kung may ma-amoy ako or may kumakain, kung anong kinakain nila, gusto ko rin. Before kasi mas sweet. Ngayon, maaalat na pagkain."
Shamcey also added that there was a time she craved a lot for coffee and soft drinks. (Even though coffee was never really part of her morning routine before.)
The former beauty queen, however, noted that she had already stopped drinking them both since they're not good for her to consume especially now that she's pregnant (Rememeber to always check first with your doctor, ladies!).
So far, Shamcey said that they have yet to decide on a name for their baby boy.
"Usually, ako 'yung naghahanap ng meaning pero siya 'yung final say kung ano 'yung name."
