When Richard Gutierrez announced that he's a proud father to Baby Zion on his reality series It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, tongues wagged. However, Sarah Lahbati, Richard's girlfriend and baby momma, is not taking any of it. According to PEP.ph, she posted this message on her Instagram account in her defense:
“Once and for all, I do not care about the hate tweets and all the ‘poor baby bakit ganito, ganyan.’ I just want to make it clear to you that from DAY ONE, we took care of him, loved him, protected him and gave him everything, until now. WE NEVER DENIED HIM. We just wanted to keep our privacy. Oh well, I love my family and I'm extremely happy and blessed that we were able to finally share our life with everyone. Spread the love.”

Prior to Richard's revelation, the couple chose to keep mum about the pregnancy rumors. There were speculations that Sarah was in a rush to fly out of the country to hide the pregnancy. Richard then clarified this months after, offering an explanation in the pilot episode of his reality series. “We didn't want to make Sarah's pregnancy a tabloid circus,” he was quoted as saying. “We get to share baby Zion to everyone with our own terms.”
