Sarah Geronimo is not one to talk about her personal life, but when an Instagram post in Ryan Agoncillo's account featuring him, his wife Judy Ann Santos, Sarah, and rumored boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli smiling post-race became viral, fans couldn't help but speculate even more.
Judy Ann, with whom Sarah became close with during the filming of Hating Kapatid, was the first to protect her friend against the controversial questions. During the last PEP List awards, the actress said her piece about the rumored couple.
"I believe [people] have to respect the privacy that they want because iyon lang naman ang gusto ng dalawang tao. If someday, kung anuman ang mangyari sa kanilang dalawa, e, di let them be. They deserve it,” she was quoted as saying.
Sarah, in turn, expressed her appreciation for her friend.
"Ang ate ko, napakataas ng respeto ko sa kanya at inspirasyon ang ibinibigay niya sa akin, the way she lives her life. Not just as an actress, not just bilang a celebrity or a public figure, kung paano siya naging magandang ehemplo sa akin, sa aming mga young adults at sa pagiging mother niya ngayon," says Sarah.
"Kaya ako ngayon, napaka-blessed ko at suwerte ko to have her as a true friend. Malaking-malaki ang pasasalamat ko kay Ate. Mahal na mahal ko si Ate Juday."
When asked how she felt about the netizens' reactions to the viral photo, Sarah reportedly answered, “Wala naman. Iba-iba naman ang opinion ng mga tao on how they would take it. We’re living our normal lives. Yun lang naman po iyon. As long as wala tayong sinasaktan na tao, wala namang dapat ikatago.”
She was also asked if Matteo would support her on the premiere night of her latest movie with Coco Martin, Maybe This Time, but the Popstar Princess only answered with a sweet smile.
