Twilight actor Robert Pattinson was allegedly planning to propose to longtime girlfriend Kristen Stewart, when news of Kristen’s cheating broke out.

Kristen was caught by a paparazzo making out with the 41-year-old director of Snow White and the Huntsman, Rupert Sanders, who has a family with model-actress Liberty Ross. The photos were released by Us Weekly magazine, prompting Kristen to confess her tryst.

"Friends of Robert have told us that this was the woman that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, and he was actually very close to proposing when he heard about the affair," Us Weekly's Dina Sansing was quoted as saying in an article on ABCNews.com.

Robert had since left the mansion he and Kristen used to live in together. A moving van was also spotted leaving the house a day after Robert did, prompting speculations that Kristen had also vacated the home.

Another source told UK's The Daily Mirror that Robert is not sure if he can get over Kristen’s betrayal. "He doesn't know if he can move on. He feels humiliated and the wound will take a long time to heal, if at all," the publication's source states.
