Though Regine Velasquez’s golden voice still sounded a bit hoarse after she was struck by a virus during her anniversary concert on November 17, she is confident about her recovery.

“Slowly, slowly, it’s getting better, actually,” she was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. ”Pero, may konti pa rin akong malat. Inuubo pa rin ako. Grabe 'yung virus talaga na ‘to (But I’m still a bit hoarse. I’m still coughing. This virus is really extreme!)! But it’s getting better… Voice rest pa rin ako, so hindi pa rin ako masyadong nagsasalita. Sa house, sign language (I’m still resting my voice, so I couldn’t speak much. At home, I use sign language.).”

She also assured the media that she and her staff are doing their best to push the repeat of her “Silver” concert before the year ends. She said that the free concert is tentatively scheduled on December 8, provided that her voice is in top form and the concert crew are free on the set date.

“Right now, my sister is just trying to fix everybody’s schedule,” she said. “Kasi it’s not just me naman [with] what whole orchestra that’s like 65-piece? So 60 people, 65 people ‘yan, the back-up singers, so lahat 'yun, inaayos pa namin, and of course, the guests. But as soon as malaman namin 'yung schedule, mag-a-annouce na kami (Because it's not just me, as the concert also involves a whole 65-piece orchestra. So 60 people, that's 65 people, the back-up singers, all of them, we're still arranging it, and of course, the guests. But we'll announce it as soon as we work out a schedule.).”

“I’m trying to get well. Kasi it was really unfortunate na I got it the week of my concert. And, I got hit talaga the day itself,” she added, cautioning against contracting the sickness. “The weird thing about that virus is for some reason, throat 'yung affected kasi, ang dami naming may sakit and they all have the same ano, walang boses lahat. Because apparently, it’s not just us, marami pang iba so ingat din kayo (The weird thing about that virus is for some reason, the throat got really affected. There are so many of us who are sick and we all have the same symptoms. And apparently, it’s not just us, there are several others [who are also sick], so take care of yourselves.).”
