Regine Velasquez says she wants Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago to be a guest for her new cooking/talk show Sarap Diva.

“Ang dream guest ko sana dito si [Senator] Miriam Santiago,” she told PEP.ph. “Wala lang, kasi why not? Bakit hindi e kasi mommy siya. Nanay siya, ang tagal na nilang mag-asawa… I’m sure, nagluluto siya sa bahay, ang dami niyang tips na puwedeng ibigay sa akin (My dream guest for this show is [Senator] Miriam Santiago. Why not? She’s a mommy. She’s a mother who has been married for a long time. I’m sure she also cooks at home, so she might have a lot of tips to share with me.).”

Regine also said that she would rather pick the feisty senator’s mind for her parenting tips than about politics. "We don’t have to talk about politics if she doesn’t want to… We can just talk about her being a mom, her being a wife. So, iyon sana yung dream guest ko, na sana mapaunlakan niya (So, she’s my dream guest, and I hope she grants my wish.). ”

According to Regine, the show had already invited Sen. Santiago to be a guest, but the senator had declined. “We tried pero parang hindi yata siya pumuwede. So, sana sa susunod na mga episodes, makuha namin siya (We tried but she said she wasn’t available. So, we’re hoping we can get her for our next episodes.).”
