It seems that Charice’s loved ones have not come to terms with her revelation about her sexuality. After the international singer confessed on national TV that she is a lesbian, PEP.ph reports that her mother, Raquel Pempengco, posted a message to her estranged daughter on her Facebook account.

I’ll just let you be because you have turned your back on your family so many times so you can pursue what will make you happy. I accepted you as my child and I planned to fix everything, but why did you have to backstab and ruin your own mother’s reputation to get the freedom and the happiness you claim you don’t have?)?”

Mahal na mahal ka namin (Now, whatever it is that you’re planning on doing with your life, it’s all up to you. Whether you succeed or not, your family will always be here to catch you. We love you very much.).”

However, when she was interviewed by members of the media on June 4, Charice said that she understands how her mother feels.

“Let’s just understand. She’s a mom and nasasaktan siya. Siguro, ibigay na lang natin sa kanya 'yung time (She’s a mom and she gets hurt. Let’s just give her time)," she told PEP.ph, adding that she has not talked to either her mom or her brother Carl yet after she came out.

“I think they’re not reading tweets, they’re not watching TV, and they don’t know what’s happening,” she added, referring to the outpouring of support she has gotten both here and abroad, which she is extremely grateful for.

ABC News, Ryan Seacrest, everyone, thankful ako (I’m very thankful. I’m really thankful. As in, I know that there will be a lot of negative reactions. But so far, what I was expecting, those I was hoping to react positively [did so]… ABC News, Ryan Seacrest, everyone, I’m really thankful.).”
