Rachel Louise Peters, 25, was recently crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2017, aka Maxine Medina's successor. According to her Binibinig Pilipinas profile, she got her International Baccalaureate at the British School in Phuket, Thailand. She also has a Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Events major) from Australia's La Trobe University.

Other than what's already in her bio, people are curious about what Rachel is like away from the limelight. We decided to check out her Instagram page, and here's what we found out.

1. She was a cute kid!

Even as a little girl, it was clear that Rachel would grow up to be a beauty.

2. She's close to her family.

Rachel, who represents Camarines Sur, is of Filipino and British descent. Her dad Nigel and mom Annie never expected her to be a beauty queen.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News correspondent Dyan Castillejo, Annie disclosed that Rachel "never actually showed any interest in joining beauty pageants when she was growing up." For his part, Nigel revealed that he "never thought for a moment that [Rachel] could actually win it because it’s just too presumptuous." He added, "Of course, she is gorgeous. For me, she is the most gorgeous girl in the world. I did not expect her to win but, of course, we hoped. She actually did it."

3. She is a dog lover.

On her IG account, you'll see photos of her hanging out with dogs at the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) compound in Quezon City.

4. She is in a relationship with Camarines Sur provincial governor Miguel Luis "Migz" Villafuerte.

Migz was tagged as a Cosmo Online Hunk back in 2011.

5. She looks amazing even without makeup.

How is this possible? For the record, we also love it when she's all glammed up.
