We all know him as that blond teenager who stole millions of girls' hearts with hits like "Baby," "One Time," and "One Less Lonely Girl." Now, Justin Bieber—who's set to perform tonight here in Manila!—urges fans of all ages to consider adopting a homeless dog or cat, in an ad campaign for PETA shot by celebrity photographer Cliff Watts.

"It's really important that people adopt," said Bieber. "I really encourage going out to an animal shelter or a place where you can get a dog who has been abandoned or doesn't have a home."

In the Philippines especially, homeless dogs and cats are a common sight in our alleyways and on our streets, most of them without food to eat, water to drink, or kind people to treat their injuries or diseases. The next time you or a friend is considering getting a new pet, why not head to your nearest animal shelter to choose a furry friend? These animals need as much—maybe even more—love as any other pet does.

Not a victim of Bieber fever? That's okay--Justin Bieber is just one of many celebrities who have joined forces with PETA to help animals. Others include Carrie Underwood, Kellan Lutz, Natalie Portman, Paul McCartney, Borgy Manotoc, and Yasmien Kurdi.
