To commemorate Father’s Day, we asked you last month to pick your favorite among our list of hot showbiz dads. The poll has since ended, and Piolo Pascual has emerged as the FNites’ pick for the honor, getting 7 out of 25 votes (28 percent).

Though Piolo is notorious for keeping quiet about his personal life, YES! magazine’s in-depth feature on the actor, published in its September 2012 issue, revealed that he’s a loving, doting father who will do everything to ensure that his U.S.-based son Iñigo will have a bright future ahead of him.

“Bakit ko ipagdadamot ang isang bagay sa kadugo ko, lalo na’t maganda ‘yong buhay ko? Kung ano ‘yong kailangan ng anak ko, ibibigay ko (Why should I withhold something to a member of my family, especially since my life is good? Whatever my son needs, I'll give it to him),” he was quoted in the article, adding that, despite his self-confessed tendency to spoil his child, he’s immensely proud of how humble his son is.

“Napakabait na bata,” he said about his boy. “Alam mo, biggest blessing sa buhay ko ‘yang anak ko… Ngayon lang daw siya [his helper] nakakita na ‘yong anak ng amo niya napaka-humble. Hindi ko ‘tinuro ‘yun sa bata. Maganda rin yung pagpapalaki ng nanay niya sa kanya. And he never lost his respect for me as his dad. Napakabait (He's a very good kid. You know, he's the biggest blessing in my life.. .My helper says she has never seen a child so humble. I never taught him that. His mother also raised him well. And he never lost his respect for me as his dad. He's very good.).”
