Phil Younghusband admits that he's “still in love” with actress Angel Locsin, even if they already parted ways a little over a month ago.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph, the 26-year-old athlete said that he and Angel remain good friends, and they still communicate from time to time.

“Yeah, yeah, we communicate... I think it’s good, so as we say, that we are still friends, and it’s good to communicate with each other... she knew I had my UFL [United Football League] Cup finals and she wished me good luck, things like that. So it makes me feel good to know that we’re still... in communication,” he was quoted by PEP.ph as saying.

While he didn't reveal the cause of their breakup, Phil clarified that financial problems weren't an issue between them.

“Well, money... money is definitely not the reason. Me and Angel are quite independent and we’re financially... we’re very okay. So, money would not be the cause of any reason for us to breaking up... Well, Angel is very busy... I mean and I’m very busy as well... But we always found the way to find time… so money and time were never the reason to the breakup. So, there’s no reason for people to think that.”

Phil also clarified that there's nothing going on between him and KC Concepcion, saying that he “doesn't really know” the actress in the first place.

“I don’t really know KC. I’ve only met her once on a past interview with Angel. So the rumor is untrue... it’s not true... I’ve never tweeted, I’ve never texted KC, I’ve never called KC,” he said.

The athlete further revealed that his ex-girlfriend pretty much occupies his thoughts even until now, adding that he is still in love with her.

“I love Angel that’s why... I’m still in love with Angel, so... Angel is the only one I’m thinking about on my lonesome.”
