Football player Phil Younghusband says he is excited to see his girlfriend, actress Angel Locsin, reprise her former role as Darna, though nothing final has been announced yet by the ABS-CBN management.

“Sana, kasi sobrang bagay sa kanya 'yung Darna role, so I hope I can watch her soon,” the Filipino-British athlete was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph.

Angel, who played the iconic Filipina superhero in 2005, had said in earlier interviews that she is willing to accept the role should it be offered to her.

"Ako si Darna talaga. Pero sinurender ko ang bato noon. So, hindi ko alam kung ibabalik pa sa akin ang bato,” she was quoted as saying in a separate PEP.ph article. “Hindi ko alam, hindi pa ako makapagsalita doon. Kasi siyempre management po ang magsasalita doon and nothing is final pa naman (I'm really Darna. But I have already surrendered the stone. So, I don’t know if the stone will be returned to me. I don’t know, I can’t say anything about that. Of course the management should be the one to announce that and nothing is still final at the moment.)."
