During a recent episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda, Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino couldn't help but get emotional over what host Boy Abunda asked him: "The man in the mirror, he's a father, he's an actor, he's a boyfriend. Who is he first?"
"Naiiyak ako, ah," he said while holding back his tears. "Well, I've always wanted to be a father first but maraming komplikasyon, maraming misunderstandings. But, yeah, I've always wanted to be a father first."
Paulo has had a strained and complicated relationship with his son, Ethan Akio, with former girlfriend LJ Reyes. In July, Paulo's absence during Akio's seventh birthday party made headlines.
The 29-year-old actor was further asked about his positive and negative traits.
Boy: "Ano ang isang ugali ni Pau na gusto mong panatilihin?"
Paulo: "Siguro it's my passion for what I do, and my genuine passion and care for the people I love."
Boy: "Talking to the man in the mirror, [ano] ang ugali na gusto niyang baguhin?"
Paulo: "Inconsistencies."
Paulo is currently in a relationship with model Jodie Elizabeth Tarasek and is starring in the afternoon drama series, The Promise of Forever.
