Rumors of director Paul Soriano’s imminent proposal to his longtime girlfriend, TV host-actress Toni Gonzaga, have been making the rounds recently. When Toni revealed that she has enrolled in a culinary class, this was taken by many as a sign of her preparation for domestic life. Paul himself confirmed that he had encouraged Toni to enroll in the said course.

“I think it’s good, plus when your wife knows how to cook… I’m happy that she’s learning now how to cook good for me and for our future,” the director was quoted as saying in an article on Push.com.ph.

On the topic of marriage, Paul, who recently celebrated his sixth anniversary with Toni last July, assured the public that they won’t get the dreaded “seven-year itch.”

“I read about that but I think definitely tuluy-tuloy (we’re pushing through),” he said. “We’ve been together for six years. But six years of understanding showbiz, I think we’ve lasted, so the foundation is really strong.”

“I think it’s just a matter of time,” he continued after being told that Toni would say readily yes should he propose to her. “The ball is in my court, I’m the guy. I’m not pressured naman. I think the right time is very soon.”
