Noted conservative Fox News host Bill O'Reilly surprised many by defending talk show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres against a group of conservatives called the One Million Moms. These protesters attempted to pressure J.C. Penny to revoke Ellen DeGeneres's contract as the spokesperson of the store. The group reasoned that hiring an openly gay celebrity to represent a wholesome brand contradicted "traditional values."
On a recent episode of her talk show, Ellen addressed the protesters. In a video embedded in his article on eonline.com, Ellen says, "I usually don't talk about stuff like this on my show, but I really want to thank everyone who is supporting me...Here are the values I stand for. I stand for honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you'd want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values."
