In light of her beautiful surprise pregnancy announcement recently, beauty queen Miriam Quiambao wrote a very touching open letter to her son Joshua on Instagram.
It was Miriam's husband Ardy Roberto who excitedly broke the news to Joshua on the same morning they got a "positive" result on the pregnancy kit. The couple, who had been trying to conceive since getting hitched four years ago, had a failed IVF procedure two years ago.
Like any mom expecting a new addition to the family, Miriam wrote to assure Joshua that a sibling will not change their love for him no matter what happens or what anybody says. Despite the fact that it was Ardy and his late wife who adopted Joshua, Miriam has always treated the boy like her own son, adopting him, even, after she and Ardy tied the knot.
"I am blessed for the gift of having a son in Joshua, my first child," the inspirational speaker wrote on Instagram. "Although he did not come from my womb, my love for him was birthed deep in my heart, so deep that I feel he is my own child," she added.
Miriam also wrote about how much she cherishes the times they've spent together as mom and son, like having tickle fights, walking their dog, playing arcade games, shopping, painting, and traveling together.
They also read the Bible and do devotions together, and go on other "real and imaginary adventures" as mother and son. "I’m so excited to be starting a new journey of homeschooling with you," she wrote.
It was at a homeschooling event that Miriam let the cat out of the bag. According to Ardy's pregnancy announcement post on Instagram, they didn't plan on letting people know this early—Miriam is just nine weeks along—when she mentioned being pregnant at Homeschool Global's launch.
Miriam assured the soon-to-be Kuya: "@joshyroberto, you are suuuuper special and very much loved by God, Mommy and Daddy. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise."
Miriam knows that being pregnant at 43 is considered high-risk, so she is being extra careful. (Click here to read about the factors of a high-risk pregnancy).
"Kailangan talaga I have to take it easy. Ang dami kong kinansel na mga trips. Meron akong mga out of the country tsaka out of town trips hanggang next year, lahat 'yon kinansel ko kasi pinagbabawalan talaga kong mag-travel," she shared on 24 Oras's "Chika Minute."
Luckily for Miriam, she is neither experiencing any morning sickness—at least not yet—nor does she get food cravings at this time. She had only stopped wearing perfume because her sense of smell has become more sensitive.
Not surprisingly, the soon-to-be parents have already discussed possible baby names. But, until they can confirm whether they are having a boy or a girl, they are keeping their options open.
