Even if she's currently not in the country, Miss World 2013 Megan Young has expressed her solidarity with the Filipino people through social media, PEP.ph reports.

“Please hold on tight my dear Philippines... #unity,” the beauty queen posted on her Twitter account. “No typhoon can bring Filipinos to their knees if we'll be united.”

Megan also revealed that super typhoon Yolanda also made landfall on her mom's hometown, Antique.

“Praying for everyone that was struck by Yolanda.. My mom's hometown, Antique, was also hit by the storm..” another tweet read.

In an interview with the Miss World organization, Megan revealed that she hopes to take part in relief operations to help the super typhoon Yolanda victims.

“I will be travelling back to New York in a few weeks, where we have several Charity events going ahead. We aim to raise as much money for the Haiti relief fund and also to continue to raise awareness of the situation in the country. I will also be meeting with the Filipino community in New York, to meet them and raise funds for both Haiti and the Tuloy Foundation and the PGH [Philippine General Hospital]. It should be a lot of fun, but also raise as much money as we can,” Megan shared.
