Megan Young has returned to the Philippines for the first time after winning the 2013 Miss World pageant, which was held in Bali, Indonesia on September 28.

PEP.ph reports that the beauty queen, who made history by being the first Filipina to clinch the coveted crown, flew in from London, her residence during her reign, on October 10. She was accompanied by Julia Morley, chairperson of the Miss World Organization.

When she was interviewed by the members of the media, Megan had admitted that she missed her family, her friends, and the people from her hometown, Olongapo City in Subic. “I’m really excited to go around to show them kung ano ‘yong mga gagawin namin dito (to show them what we’re going to do here),” she said, later revealing that she is set to visit the province soon.

She likewise said that being the current Miss World is not difficult at all.

“All you have to do is just be yourself, and that’s the best part of it. You can just be yourself and show them who you are,” she shared.

Megan also elaborated on her promise to be the “best Miss World ever.”

“Well, in everything you do, you exert your one hundred percent effort. And your heart, your soul, and all the hard work that you put into, it’s there,” she said. “It’s not fifty percent. It’s not holding back anything. It’s just giving your all throughout your reign for this year.”
