Sarah Geronimo made headlines following her This 15 Me Las Vegas concert, where she got emotional and opened up about feeling tired and "empty" in the middle of her set. (via PEP.ph)
“Ginusto ko pong maibahagi 'yung talento ko, pero hindi po pala ako handa dun sa mga kasama ng hiningi ko. Lalo na po 'yung pressure to always do good, maging role model ka, maging perpekto ka. Mahirap po.”
Sarah repeatedly apologized to her audience, claiming that she was tired but didn't want to disappoint. She also went on to talk about her success and fulfillment.
“I’ve been asking myself bakit I feel empty. Hindi 'yung successful na shows or mga hits ang makakapagpakumpleto sa 'yo, ang makakapagpasaya sa 'yo bilang tao, kundi yung tunay na pagmamahal na hindi nagbabago—perpekto ka man o hindi.”
Before ending her tearful speech, she thanked everyone for their continued support and went on to sing her hit song "Forever's Not Enough." But struggling to finish the number, Sarah walked out of the stage, leaving fans were worried. But quickly after, messages of support and love were posted for the Popstar Princess.
Sarah's long-time boyfriend, Matteo Guidicelli, also posted his message on Instagram:
In an interview during the press conference of his new movie Single/Single, the 28-year old actor assured everyone that Sarah is "fine" and that her stress is largely due to the schedule of her U.S. tour.
“Everything's fine,” said Matteo. “Tuluy-tuloy kasi 'yung tour niya in America... She came from another state to Las Vegas, walang tulog, and did a show.
“You know, [This 15 Me] show is a jam-packed show from the start, the beginning. She just got very emotional. But she's fine. Everything is good.”
“She was just tired. You know, when we're tired, our consciousness opens 10 times and everything, and becomes more sensitive."
Videos of Sarah also surfaced when she met fans in the U.S. the following day. While the popstar still looked tired, she seems to have recovered a bit.
The singer's hectic schedule may be to blame, but it's important to always listen to our minds and bodies, especially when we're working a lot. Mental health is not something to take lightly, and we give Sarah much respect for speaking up about the true meaning of success and showing us why it's important to be honest about how you feel. More power to you, Sarah! Nothing but love here.
