The explosive family feud between Gretchen Barretto and her sister Claudine Barretto is still far from over, yet another famous Barretto is already in the hot seat for a different controversy.

Actress-turned-politician Marjorie Barretto has denied that she is the woman in the “photo scandal” that first appeared in a tabloid on May 3 and has since quickly spread in the social networking site Facebook. The two aforementioned photos showed a woman who closely resembles Marjorie in different provocative poses: one had her exposing her right breast, while the other showed her clad in black panties, with her legs spread open.

"No. That's not me. I would never do something like that. That's not my nature," she told PEP.ph editor in chief Jo-Ann Maglipon in a phone conversation on May 6, adding that she is set on enlisting the help of the National Bureau of Investigation to find the people responsible for the malicious images.

There are speculations that the images’ timely appearance was politically motivated, as Marjorie, an outgoing Caloocan City councilor, is a member of reelectionist Mayor Recom Echiverri’s party.
