It doesn’t take much to make Maricar Reyes’s ethereal beauty pop out. The chinita actress (and licensed doctor) was bare-faced when she arrived at her cover shoot for Good Housekeeping’s October 2013 issue, but unlike other stars who seem to lose their luster once they remove their foundation, she still looked every inch as gorgeous as she did after spending an hour in the makeup chair.

Of course, this wasn’t really surprising, given Maricar’s status as a longtime commercial model and a former endorser for a popular skincare brand. We got to spend a few minutes chatting with her during the shoot, and she gamely shared the secrets to her enviable skin with us. Read on to learn what they are!

Milk is a time-tested product that effectively keeps skin soft, smooth, and glowing. You can spoil yourself by bathing in it, or you can drink a couple of glasses of milk every day to maximize its benefits.

Your skin will be dry and wrinkly when you’re dehydrated. Avoid this by drinking the recommended eight glasses of water every day.

Whether you drink it or use it as a toner, one thing’s for sure: the minerals in fresh apple juice can help give your skin that enviable glow.

Getting enough sleep can ward off sallow skin, dark circles, and fine lines. It’s not called “beauty sleep” for nothing!

Moisturizing should be a part of every girl’s beauty routine as it keeps skin hydrated while protecting it from the elements.
