The Twitterverse came alive last February 20 when boxing champion Manny Pacquiao posted his first ever Tweet on his official account @mannypacquiao. His simple “Kamusta kayo ‘hi everybody’” had Filipinos all over the world excitedly welcoming him to the world of microblogging. GMANews.TV reports that the account was created on February 18 and verified as being the real deal soon after. As of this writing, Manny currently has 9,843 followers and counting. With the boom of celebrities on Twitter in the past year, it seems like only a handful of stars have yet to join the Twitter craze. Which celebrities would you love to see on Twitter, FNites? UPDATE (02/24/2011): @MannyPacquiao Account a Fake!
Despite the blue verification badge on the @mannypacquiao Twitter account, the congressman himself has announced that this is a fake and that he doesn't know who created the account, reports GMANews.TV. The People's Champ also shared that his official Twitter account is @CongMP, created just yesterday. The first tweet on this new account reads, "hello guys its me Cong. Manny this is my new and official twitter account hello everybody thank you for all your support pls. watch my fight."
