Hundreds of commuters were stranded on September 10 when a sudden downpour caused floods in some parts of Metro Manila at around 6:00 P.M., causing a large-scale traffic jam. Because of this, some celebrities had to cancel their engagements for the night, while other personalities were seen riding Manila’s train system in order to honor their commitments.

PEP.ph reports that one of these was champion boxer and Saranggani representative Manny Pacquiao, who was seen in line at the Buendia MRT Station accompanied by a TV crew and a police escort.

Instagram user @prinsesabea was able to take a photo of the People’s Champ on board the train, which she posted with the caption, “Manny pacquiao sa MRT! Believe it or not, may kasama siyang pulis and camera crew. Akala ko kalokalike pero siya talaga! Megeeed (Manny Pacquiao on the MRT! Believe it or not, he was accompanied by a police and camera crew. I thought it was only his lookalike, but it really was him! My god!)!”

Another top celebrity, TV host-actress Kris Aquino, also chose to ride the MRT in her desire to make it to an event. Her experience was documented with two photos she shared on her Instagram account. The first picture, which showed her waiting in line for the train, had the caption, “MRT! Habol sa Lucky Me event (Catching the Lucky Me event!)!”

The other photo showed her inside the crowded carriage and was captioned, “Me on the MRT. Made it to the awarding ceremony... People were so NICE. What a memorable experience!”
