A few months ago, comedienne Cacai Bautista was rumored to be linked to Thai heartthrob Mario Maurer due to the seemingly romantic photos of the two of them together. Cacai was adamant that there was nothing going on between her and the actor, whom she met while filming the movie Suddenly It’s Magic. However, actress Maja Salvador, who is one of Cacai’s closest friends, revealed on the June 9 episode of Gandang Gabi Vice that her pal has fallen in love with Mario.

“Oo, may pag-iyak, may pag-waling kasi lumabas ang isyu (Yes, she cried when the issue came out)," Maja was quoted as saying in an article on ABS-CBNNews.com.

"Nag-worry lang ako,” Cacai said about why she chose to not reveal her feelings. “Iniingatan ko din si Kuya, worried lang ako (I was worried. I don’t want him to get hurt.).”

When the rumors first came out, Cacai had admitted that she was hurt by allegations that she was only using Mario so she can be more popular.

“Kasi 'yung mga tao... porke’t ba komedyante na chaka [pangit], hindi na puwedeng magkaroon ng kaibigan na sikat na superstar, na international star?” Cacai was quoted by PEP.ph as saying, in an interview on Showbiz Inside Report. "Siya lang 'yung nagpatunay na wala talagang pinipili 'yung totoong pagkakaibigan, kahit ano ka pa. Marami akong kaibigan, pero di ba, sino ba mag-aakala na ako lang, si Cacai lang [ang magiging kaibigan ni Mario] (Just because you’re an ugly comedienne, does that mean you can’t have a friend who’s a famous international superstar? He’s the only one who proved that real friends don’t judge you based on looks, I have a lot of friends, but who would have thought that I’m the only one, that Cacai’s the one who will become Mario’s friend?)."
