Actress and TV host Angel Aquino revealed that the hit show Magkaribal will be ending soon, reports ABS-CBNNews.com. This is in spite of the good ratings the show has been enjoying--according to Kantar Media/TNS, Magkaribal garnered a 20.5 percent viewership on September 27, compared to GMA show Illumina's 18.6 percent viewership.And how does Angel, who plays the show's antagonist, Vera Cruz, feel about the possible conclusion to the show? "Ako kasi, personally, gusto kong matapos ang Magkaribal na gustong gusto pa siya ng mga tao para bitin na bitin pa sila at hindi 'yong pinagsawaan. (For me, personally, I want Magkaribal to end while people are still really enjoying it so they'll keep looking for it and will never be sick of it.) You know it's always nice to end on a high note," she told ABS-CBNNews.com.
But it seems this news isn't final yet. Angel says it still needs to be proven that a second season could work.
"Pero 'yon na nga, malay mo Magkaribal ang gagawa noon para sa Channel 2. Hindi ko alam kung magkaka-season 2. Sabi nila hindi. Pero kung talagang magkakaroon ng clamor for the continuation ng Magkaribal or revival of Magkaribal, bakit hindi?"
(But that's just it. You never know, Magkaribal could do that [prove that season 2 would work] for Channel 2. I don't know if there will be a season 2. They said there wouldn't be. But if there really is a clamor for the continuation of Magkaribal or revival of Magkaribal, why not?)
