After six years of being in a relationship, LJ Reyes and Paolo Contis have decided to part ways.
The actress confirmed the breakup in an interview with Boy Abunda for The Interviewer.
"It was so difficult. It was so painful. Siguro, kung hindi malakas yung pananampalataya ko sa Panginoon, hindi ko alam kung saan ako pupulutin,” she tearfully said. “Six years po kami. Hindi po madali kalimutan ang isang relasyon at pagmamahal sa tao na six years mo nakasama.”
In an hour-long interview uploaded on YouTube, the mom of two revealed that breaking up with Paolo wasn’t a mutual decision. "Hindi siya mutual kasi naniniwala ako na kapag mutual 'yong decision, pareho kayo sumasangayon na hindi na nagwowork 'yong relationship.”
When asked who initiated the breakup, the actress said: “Matagal ko nang nararamdaman na parang nakahiwalay na siya sa amin. Ramdam na ramdam ko po 'yon. Pero honestly, ako po 'yong nag sabi na parang nasa ibang mundo na po siya and pakiramdam ko na hinihintay niya lang na manggaling sa akin."
LJ, together with her kids, flew to New York in late August to be with her family.
Rumors about the breakup started circulating online when Paolo unfollowed the actress and deleted all her photos on Instagram.
