Jodi Sta. Maria and Jolo Revilla may have been getting along quite well since their rumored Hong Kong trip last September, but their budding relationship doesn’t mean that they’ll be tying the knot soon. This was even confirmed by Jolo’s mother, Congresswoman Lani Mercado, who appeared to have been surprised when she heard the rumor that her son is planning to marry Jodi.

“May ganun? Wala pa namang ganoong nagaganap,” Lani was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “May hinihintay pa sila. At alam mo naman ang pagse-settle down, timing din 'yan (What? Nothing like that has happened yet… They’re still waiting for something. And you know how important timing is when you’re settling down.).”

She also said that since Jolo is currently focusing on his political career, it might be best for the couple to prioritize their jobs first. “Sa tingin ko, pinu-pursue pa rin niya ang kanyang dream na maging public servant. Siguro, career rin muna ang iisipin nila for the meantime (I think he’s still pursuing his dream of becoming a public servant. Maybe they should focus on their careers for the meantime.).”

Despite this, Lani assured PEP.ph that she approves of Jodi for her son. “Alam ninyo, basta mahal ng anak ko at nagkakasundo, nagkakatulungan sila, wala naman akong hadlang basta they complement each other. Basta nakikita kong masaya ang anak ko (You know, as long as my son loves her and they help out and get along with each other, I wouldn’t object as long as they complement each other, as long as I can see that my son is happy.).”
