Kris Aquino took to Instagram to reminisce about a day in Italy she spent with Mayor Herbert Bautista.
In the caption, she thanked her ex for praying with her before she made a big career move: "He took that free day from the 2017 peace talks to give in to my wish to really pray in as many churches as possible... I texted him last night to share good news about new endorsements. And I THANKED HIM—because he prayed [with] me when my one prayer was to just be given a chance to say goodbye properly to a career I loved passionately and for God to heal me [with] the gift of becoming okay again..." Aww! <3
In a People's Asia interview released in December 2017, Kris shared she and Herbert were already planning to get married in 2014, but "inatrasan ako sa kasal ni Herbert." She also said that Herbert asked for her hand in marriage the second time around earlier that year in Italy. (It could even have been on the same day the photo was taken!) He reportedly gave her a diamond ring, which she accepted, before returning the ring the following day.
“I returned it the next day because I said that we will always have responsibilities that came before he and I met. And as long as our children are not done yet with their studies, I don’t think we have the freedom to be able to choose happiness," Kris said.
