Actress Kim Chiu and actor Gerald Anderson, who were once reel-to-real-life sweethearts, will be working together in an upcoming movie celebrating Star Magic's 20th anniversary, ABS-CBNNews.com reports.

"Nagsimula na ako kahapon, pero hindi ko siya (Gerald) ka-eksena," Kim said in an interview at a charity event. "Okay lang naman. Kung trabaho, trabaho. Magkaibigan naman talaga kami. Wala naman kaming pinag-awayan as kaming dalawa. (I started filming scenes yesterday, but I haven't done any with Gerald yet. It's okay. If it's work, it's work. We're really friends. We haven't really had any personal arguments in the past.)"

In a separate interview on April 17, Gerald told ABS-CBNNews.com that he is looking forward to working with Kim again. "Kami po ang magka-partner ni Kim dito sa bagong movie ng Star Magic, so exciting. Excited na 'ko makasama si Kim ulit sa movie (Kim and I are partners in this new Star Magic movie, so it's exciting. I'm excited to work on a movie with Kim again)," he is quoted as saying.

The star added that he doesn't think there will be any awkwardness between them. "Four years kami magka-love team ni Kim, kaya pagdating sa trabaho, sanay na sanay na kami. At saka panibagong challenge ‘to kasi ngayon lang kami magsasama ulit after more than a year. (Kim and I were in a love team for four years, so when it comes to work, we're really used to what goes on. It's a new challenge, as well, because we haven't starred in anything together for more than a year.)"

Both Kim and Gerald expressed that they were happy for each other.

"Sa kung ano man ang naabot niya ngayon sa personal life niya at sa career niya, masayang masaya ako (Whatever he has been able to achieve, whether it's for his personal life or his career, I'm really happy for him)," said Kim.

“Happy rin ako para kay Kim sa mga nagaganap sa buhay niya, at sobra akong nagpapa-salamat sa kanya for everything (I'm also happy for Kim for all the things happening in her life right now, and I'm really thankful to her for everything)," Gerald said.

Gerald is currently courting singer Sarah Geronimo. Meanwhile, Kim has expressed that she's not in a hurry to fall in love again--although rumor has it that actor Xian Lim would like to partner her in an off-screen romance.

The Star Magic movie will also feature other big stars like John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, and Angelica Panganiban.
