In case you didn't know, celebrity couple Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla are about to celebrate their ninth year anniversary. While marriage is definitely on the cards for this pair, they aren't in any rush to tie the knot just yet.
In the press conference for the finale of The House Arrest of Us, Kathryn and Daniel were asked when they planned on getting married since the couple's friends, Patrick Sugui and Aeriel Garcia, recently announced their engagement.
Daniel stressed that their timeline as a couple remains unchanged and that they do not want to rush into anything just yet.
"Hindi namin puwedeng biglain 'yong mga ganyang bagay. Sa amin ha? Siyempre iba-iba naman ang trip ng lahat. Pero kami kasi parang nakaplano 'yon, nakalista 'yong mga dapat naming gawin para hindi rin kami ma-rattle sa mga decision na gagawin namin," he shared.
He also added that if they hurried to get married, it might just cause problems down the road. "Kapag masyadong biglaan ang mga bagay, baka d'on kami biglang magkaproblema. Nilalatag muna namin ang mga bagay, pinaplano namin," he added.
Kathryn, on the other hand, said that they would like to focus on being a bridesmaid and groomsman first. "May mga kaibigan kaming engaged. Duty namin maging best bridesmaid and groomsman muna. Iba din naman 'yong age namin sa kanila."
"Like what DJ said kanina, iba-iba tayo ng timing lahat. Kami siguro komportable kami na bago tumalon sa ganyang klaseng buhay, kailangan ready kami. Ayaw namin na masira 'yong relationship just because hindi kami ready pareho," she emphasized.
What about living together in one house?
"Hindi pa siguro, hindi pa kami handa magsama sa isang bahay. Magpapakasal muna kami saka kami magsasama sa isang bahay dahil si Kathryn nandiyan pa si Lhexine (Bernardo's niece). Siya ang ate n'on. Binabantayan niya pa. Ako naman, nandiyan pa 'yong mga kapatid ko...na binabantayan ko pa rin. Magpapakasal muna kami," Daniel concluded.
