Anne Curtis recently made headlines when she was reported to have slapped and hurled insults at several personalities--including John Lloyd Cruz--in Privé Luxury Club on November 23, Saturday. The actress was apparently bothered by someone who kept "banging" at the door while she was in the ladies' room.
“Then we heard a loud voice saying, ‘Who's banging my door?’ We didn't know who or where it was at first! Just loud, coming from behind us. When we turned around, we saw, stepping out of the toilet, Anne, very mad,’’ JR Isaac, who was directly involved in the incident, related to PEP.ph in an exclusive interview.
Anne quickly apologized for her behavior, but she hinted on Twitter that another person--whom she chose not to name--was behind all the ruckus.
“When I was told of my behavior AND the person who started all of this, due to this persons inappropriate behavior, apologized to me too... Just as I did. Which I accepted too. I choose not to go into detail because I'm not the type to ruin someone else's name...’’ she tweeted.
People have been speculating about the identity of the said individual, and some fingers pointed fingers at Kapamilya actor Jake Cuenca, who was reported to be in Privé when the incident happened. According to rumors, Jake and John Lloyd [JL] apparently pulled a prank on Anne by continuously banging on her door. Jake, however, took to Twitter to clarify matters.
“Um haters im a little bit to old to be pulling pranks on anyone and if you know me thats not my style. Get your facts straight guys,’’ he tweeted.
The actor said that while he was in Privé that night, he wasn't involved in the incident.
“Yes i was in prive but i didnt see anything. I was busy minding my own buisness. Like things should be,’’ another post read. “No I absolutley did not bang any doors and i didnt have any problems that night with anne or jlc...’’ the actor added.
In a separate article, PEP editor in chief Jo-Ann Maglipon also got in touch with Jake's manager, Neil de Guia, who also confirmed Jake's story.
“Jake was downstairs, doon din sa Privé, talking to a friend. Noong umakyat siya, kasi tapos nang makipag-usap sa friend niya, patapos na 'yung commotion. Sabi raw ni Jake, ‘What happened? What happened?’ May sumagot daw sa kanya at sinabing, ‘Sinampal kami.’ Tapos, nakita niya si John Lloyd tulala, si Leah tulala, silang lahat tulala. Ang sumunod na nangyari, inalalayan daw niya [Jake] ang kanyang mga kasamahan. Sinabi raw niya kay JL, ‘Let’s go down.’’ Nilayo niya si JL doon sa lugar ng pinangyarihan. Tapos, lumabas sila, nagpahangin, at saka lumipat ng lugar. Kung naiwan 'yung iba o ano pa, di na alam ni Jake (Jake was downstairs, also in Privé, talking to a friend. The commotion has already ended by the time he was able to come upstairs. Jake asked, ‘What happened? What happened?’ Somebody said, ‘We got slapped.’ Then he saw John Lloyd looking dazed, Leah also looked dazed, all of them were in a state of shock. Then Jake said to JL, ‘Let’s go down.’ He took JL away from the place and they went outside. Jake doesn't know what happened to those who stayed behind),’’ Neil was quoted by PEP.ph as saying.
Neil added that Jake never saw Anne that night, but nonetheless, the actress apologized to Jake.
“Never raw niya nakita si Anne, kasi late na nga siyang dumating... Nag-sorry daw si Anne. Nag-text ata sa kanya. Pero ayaw na niyang [Jake] pag-usapan kasi wala naman daw dapat ipag-sorry sa kanya. Kasi wala namang nangyari sa kanya (Jake said he never saw Anne because he came in late. Anne said sorry, I think she texted him. But Jake doesn't want to talk about it because Anne doesn't need to apologize to him for anything),” he said.
