Angelina Jolie is reportedly seeking advice from an influential British politician about a U.K. government role.

The American actress, who has her main home in London, has lobbied governments on issues including human and women’s rights, immigration and conservation for a number of years.

In 2012, she launched the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative with then British Foreign Secretary William Hague, and has formed a close bond with one of his advisers Baroness Arminka Helic.

Helic, who fled to Britain during the Yugoslav conflict of the 1990s, is now reportedly advising the star on what future political roles she could take on.

A source tells America’s Us Weekly magazine that Angelina, 40, is, “readying herself for what could be a full-time commitment with the British government,” adding, “Arminka helps Angelina make decisions about her next political move. Angie considers her a mentor.”

The Maleficent star has continued to campaign with Hague on the issue of sexual violence against women, chairing a global summit on the topic in London in 2014 and opening the U.K.’s first academic center to study the issue with the ex-Foreign Secretary last year.

Last September she co-wrote an article with Helic in British newspaper The Times highlighting the plight of refugees fleeing war-torn Syria.

Angelina, who also acts as Special Envoy of the United Nations (UN) High Commissioner for Refugees has previously said she would take on any political role she felt could help further the causes she cares about.

“I’ve always gone wherever I felt I was needed,” she told ITV News in 2014. “When I started working with the UN, I felt I loved working in the field and I felt I was useful in the field and then there was a point where I realized that I was only so useful in the field because someone had to go to Washington and plea the case. So then I would do that, I don’t know what that means or where that will lead me.”
