There's always a lot of pressure on celebrities to consistently look fresh and sexy, but achieving and maintaining a good physique isn't easy thanks to the intense demands of their industry.
At the Ever Bilena 34th Anniversary Shoot, actress and mom to three daughters, Sunshine Cruz, sat down with Female Network to talk about the importance of loving oneself. “I always tell my friends and other people that you have to love yourself," she said. "Kasi how can other people love us if we don’t love ourselves first.”
When it comes to self-care, Sunshine believes in the power of sleep and good food. “I love to sleep. I really love to sleep. I don’t deprive myself of sleep and food,” she shared.
Of course, what she meant was that she always made sure that she ate healthy food – although she admitted that the holiday season was an exception. But now, she’s back in the game, “I’ve been exercising again, naka-two weeks na ako. And ngayon, I’m trying to watch what I eat and I’ve been boxing again, mga 3-4 times a week.”
The 38-year old actress also said that cheat days are important. “’Pag dine-deprive mo ang sarili mo, the more na kakain ka ng kung anu-ano, na hindi mo [na] namamalayan na mas napaparami 'yung kinakain mo."
But ladies, remember to enjoy cheat days in moderation so you don't end up sacrificing your hard work. Loving yourself isn't about indulgence, it's about balance.
