Truth be told, at some point, we’ve all wanted to be an Instagram influencer. Who wouldn’t want to make a living out of the big 'gram, along with owning a feed full of idyllic shots?
Among the lucky fold who get to live the dream are those that earn the biggest bucks. Topping the list of Instagram Philippines’ biggest earners? None other than Queen P herself, Pia Wurtzbach.
NetCredit, an online personal lender based in Chicago, has released an exhaustive list of the world’s top-earning Instagram influencers. According to the website, the data was gathered by enumerating every country's most-followed users on the social media app. They then rifled through the posts these selected accounts published in 2021, then analyzed which of these were disclosed as sponsored—a.k.a. posts with the “paid partnership” label or hashtags like #ad.
After that, the website cross-referenced its dataset with figures from HopperHQ’s Instagram Rich List, which details the amount each celebrity could charge for a sponsored post. If they weren’t on the list, NetCredit calculated the average cost per follower ratio using the Random Forest statistical method.
In the Philippines, our very own Miss Universe 2015 ranks the highest-paid among local Instagram stars with a calculated earning of $3,669,205, which is approximately P216,193,227!
She is followed by local celebs like Kathryn Bernardo, Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, and Andrea Brillantes, who make up the country’s top five.

The Filipino stars join top-earning international celebrities like Ellen Degeneres (US, $33,723,706), Justin Bieber (Canada, $4,427,738), Dua Lipa (UK, $13,046,529), Blackpink’s Lisa (Thailand, $8,760,460) and Jisoo (South Korea, $18,896,411)! Bagging the first spot as the world’s highest Instagram earner is Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo ($85,217,365), followed by Argentinian competitor Lionel Messi ($71,963,449).
