Gerald Anderson has admitted that he's affected by the negative raps he has been receiving because of his tumultuous love life. However, he says that he would rather focus on staying strong rather that allow himself to be affected by the bad press he gets.

Sino ba’ng hindi masasaktan? Tao ka, e,” he was quoted as saying in an article on PEP.ph. “Pero 'yun nga, dito natin malalaman kung sino talaga tayo. The stronger you are, the more na marami pang blessings ang darating sa buhay mo at 'yun ang dapat mong isipin—hindi 'yung mga taong hindi mo naman kakilala at nagda-down sa iyo… No matter what, it doesn’t matter kung may kasalanan ka man o wala, you cannot please everybody (Who wouldn’t get hurt? You’re only human, after all. But it’s because of these that we discover who we really are. The stronger you are, the more blessings that will come into your life and that’s what you should think of—not the people whom you don’t know, yet pull you down… No matter what, it doesn’t matter if you’re at fault or not, you cannot please everybody.).”

He also declined to comment on the real score between him and Maja Salvador, who is currently being linked to him. In an earlier article on PEP.ph, Gerald allegedly took Maja to a Valentine’s Day lunch in Tagaytay via a chartered helicopter, a date that reportedly cost more than P100,000.

Hindi naman kami magsasama kung hindi kami nag-e-enjoy. I can say na ine-enjoy namin ang company ng isa’t isa,” he had said about their relationship. “Oo naman, siyempre gusto mo araw-araw mong ipinaparamdam sa kanya na mahal mo siya—na isa siya sa pinakaimportanteng tao sa buhay mo (We won’t hang out with each other if we don’t find each other's company enjoyable. I can say that we’re enjoying each other’s company. Of course, you’d like to let her feel how much you love her every day—that she’s one of the most important people in your life.).”

Gerald also refrained from commenting on the rift he reportedly caused between Maja and his ex-girlfriend, Kim Chiu, who were once close friends. “Bigyan natin ang mga sarili natin at ng mga taong involved ng time to heal. Huwag na nating pahabain pa (Let’s give each other and everyone involved the time to heal. Let’s not prolong this anymore.).”
