Actress Gal Gadot is pregnant with her second child.
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star announced the happy news on Instagram on Sunday.
“So excited to share this wonder with you… #mommyforthesecondtime,” she wrote alongside a picture of the parents-to-be, with her husband placing his hand over her stomach.
The 31-year-old wed Israeli real estate developer Yaron Varsano in 2008 and they welcomed their first child, daughter Alma, in 2011.
Earlier this year, Gal opened up about the “Jewish guilt” she used to feel when she had to travel for work.
“Priorities,” she told Glamour magazine of what changed when Alma was born. “I started to choose my battles better. The Jewish guilt I feel about being a working mom is the hardest thing.”
“I’ve gotten better,” she added of her relentless guilt. “When Alma was around two, I was really anxious about how to travel with a child, moving her from one country to the other, all the different languages. It was my husband who told me: ‘Gal, think about what kind of a role model you want to be. If you want to show Alma that she can follow her dreams, that’s what you should do, and we will figure out the logistics.’”
And now her new role as Wonder Woman has made her proud she can show her daughter there are strong female superheroes.
“Most of the movies, the men are in charge, the men are the most powerful ones,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “You’ve had Superman and Batman and everyone, but Wonder Woman was never there.”
“I’m so happy when she grows up she’s going to see a female figure she can be inspired by,” she added.
