In the span of six short years, Marian Rivera has become an unstoppable force. She’s one of her network’s top stars, with a string of successful TV soaps and fantasy series, blockbuster movies, and two record-breaking music albums under her belt. She has certainly accomplished a lot, and she’s not slowing down anytime soon. Take a leaf from Marian’s book and read on for a few of her tips on achieving your goals.
DO WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO.
Iba ‘yung love mo yung ginagawa mo kaysa gusto mo lang kumita (You'll really get jobs when people can see that you love what you're doing and that you value craft. Loving what you're doing is different from doing it just to earn money.).”
KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE.
Kailangan kong makabili nito.’ After okay na ako. Nakakatulong siya (I have a notebook where I would write my target for each soap that I'm doing. When I get tired from taping, I'll just look at my notebook and realize, 'Ah, I have a goal. I have to buy this.' Then I'll be okay after. It really helps.).”
LOVE TO LEARN.
Gusto ko ‘yung kakaiba, tipong barumbadong lalaki naman ako, baliw, kriminal (I've already done roles that require me to be nice and to be downtrodden. So I want to try a different Marian, one they haven't seen before. I'm open to doing indie films now. I want to take on something different, like I'd be a rowdy guy, a crazy person, a criminal.).”
Doon ko na-realize na sobrang nabuo na ako nung nakita ko sila (I'm saving up so I can visit my family in Spain. I only saw again my grandparents from my dad's side last year. I realized that I became really fulfilled when I saw them.).”
