Maricar Reyes seems like one of those actresses who were born to take sosyal roles. Not only does she have the look down pat—she also radiates that rare poised and reserved aura even when the cameras aren’t rolling, as we saw for ourselves during her cover shoot for Good Housekeeping’s October 2013 issue.

But beneath the elegant veneer lies a more down-to-earth side: in her interview with the magazine, Maricar reveals that she loves her husband Richard Poon’s chicken mami and counts dishwashing as her favorite chore (she also revealed that she used to eat food straight out of the can [or the carton] when she was a kid). This leading lady delights in life’s simple pleasures, and we can’t help but love her even more because of it.
