You don’t have to be an avid gamer or an anime enthusiast to know who Alodia Gosiengfiao is. She’s probably the most recognizable face in the local cosplay community, and she has since brought her trademark otherworldly garb to several endorsements, modeling gigs, and even TV and movie appearances.

We caught up with Alodia during FHM’s press conference for the 100 Sexiest Women in the World Victory Party, and, given her penchant for transforming herself into other characters, we can’t help but ask her about her makeup tricks and tips. Read on for a few prettifying suggestions from the Cosplay Queen herself!

SHIELD YOUR SKIN WITH A GOOD PRIMER.
“You don’t think of the makeup only, [you have to consider] your skin care, too. If you use a lot of makeup, your skin tends to break out. So if you use primer, parang protection 'yun.

READ THE LABEL ON YOUR FOUNDATION.
Dapat hindi ka allergic (You shouldn’t be allergic to it.). Also, some foundations have lead, which is harmful to the skin.”

NAB THE K-POP LOOK BY KEEPING IT LIGHT.
“Personally, parang nagla-light eyeshadow n alang ako, para ala-K-Pop (Personally, I just use light eyeshadow, for the K-Pop look.). Then the eyeliners are very dark, either black, or brown. And then pink cheeks, and then sweet lips.”

LINE YOUR EYES TO MAKE THEM LOOK BIGGER.
“Other than contact lens, eyeliner talaga. You have to shape your lids with the eyeliner.”

DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE FALSIES.
“Sometimes you can do two layers of false eyelashes, para bukang-buka talaga (So your eyes are really wide open.). It depends on the eyelashes mismo, there are eyelashes that are itchy and heavy, so kung saan ka hiyang (so use the ones you’re comfortable wearing).”
