Dimples Romana can rise to any fitness challenge without sweat--except running.

"I am not that agile," she told PEP.ph, admitting, "I cannot run to save my life. I am really lampa."

She shares that her regular physical routine includes jumping jacks, lunges, and squats.

"Yung kaya lang ng katawan ko," she said. "Kasi mahirap namang ipilit simply because you want to be fit; there are many ways to exercise. Pagpawisan ka, without being as intense as those na nakikita natin sa gym. Kung ano lang yung kaya kong gawin, and effective naman."

She also does Pilates, a mind-body workout that targets core muscles.

For six months now, she has been regularly exercising for "at least 15 minutes" to an hour on the daily, stressing, "Basta ang importante, every day, consistent ka na gumagalaw ka nonstop for a certain number of minutes. Basta gumalaw ka lang."

Following her "huwag ipilit" philosphy, Dimples also shared that she really isn't on any strict diet, but she did note that she shifted her carbs.

"I cook kasi, e, and masarap talagang kumain. But the major thing I did was, I changed my rice to quinoa. Parang nakasanayan ko na lang."

Fitness really depends on your body type. In a previous interview with FemaleNetwork.com, Functional Nutritionist and Health Optimization Practice Leader Roland Pankewich said, "Just because someone exercises and makes a change in their diet, it doesn’t mean that it was the right change. Exercise doesn’t equal results. Exercise equals exercise... The context of exercise…is the body only adapts to what it isn’t used to doing."

This means that you'll have to find the right kind and amount of movement that suits your body's needs in order for the activity to be effective. So, like Dimples, find out first what you really want and need out of getting fit then suit it to what your body can accomplish without resorting to 'over-exercising' or injuring yourself.
